Match seats to table and counter heights
Review chairs, stools and their intended surfaces as combinations. Check legroom, foot support, arm clearance and the space used when a guest pulls the seat back. Do not order from a seat-height label alone. For an illustrative mixed venue, sample a dining set and a bar-stool setting separately; one successful combination does not prove that the other works comfortably.
Balance capacity with everyday service
Plot the proposed furniture on the real plan and walk through ordering, serving, clearing and queueing activities with the operator. Consider tables in use, not only pushed neatly together. Table bases influence where guests can place their legs and how staff move around groups. Final circulation and accessibility decisions belong with the project designer and relevant local advisers.
Specify finishes for the cleaning routine
Discuss spills, frequent wiping and upholstery care before approving materials. Ask for the exact finish specification and supplier instructions rather than relying on a general description such as easy-clean. Check exposed edges, chair glides and replaceable components. If banquettes are included, confirm access for cleaning and how cushions or upholstery sections can be repaired without replacing the entire unit.
Plan a practical opening package
Create an item schedule by zone, with quantities for dining, counter seating, terrace areas and any agreed spare pieces. Check table stability and assembly on the approved sample. Label cartons so the opening team can place furniture efficiently. Separate arrival of the furniture from final assembly, packaging removal and readiness for service; these tasks need named responsibility and enough time before opening.
Project checklist
Before requesting a quotation
- Service model and furniture zones
- Approved chair-table and stool-counter combinations
- Cleaning methods and material instructions
- Zone quantities, assembly plan and opening date
A useful question
Can indoor café chairs also be used on the terrace?
Only when the exact product is suitable for the outdoor conditions. Review its frame, finish, upholstery and care requirements separately. A matching appearance does not mean the indoor and outdoor versions have the same specification.
